Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to perform routine to moderately complex engineering functions, applying physics and engineering methods to ensure cost-effective, reliable manufacturing and measurement processes.

The role involves design support, equipment planning, testing, and collaboration with customers and suppliers to resolve engineering issues, while supporting security clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
• United States Citizenship.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and project/process management of products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment.
• Define and acquire equipment to manufacture/inspect parts.
• Develop test procedures and perform engineering evaluation tests and quality audits.
• Interact with partners and internal teams to resolve design and production issues.
• Prepare evaluation reports and initiate improvements to improve productivity and quality.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics

2+ years of relevant engineering experience
