Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking Mechanical Engineers for the Test Equipment Directorate. You will design, develop, document, and maintain complex test environments for Raytheon products in a hands-on lab and production setting.

You will research and design mechanical test systems for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical testing; calibrate and validate systems to meet strict accuracy and reliability; evaluate installations and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Education and/or Experience with project work in one or more of the following: mechanical/electronic sub-systems packaging, material selection, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development.
• Completion of 1 internship in a related field.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric.
• Experience with creating design drawing packages.
• Experience in Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
