Job summary

RTX is seeking a mechanical engineer to develop subsystems and create CAD-based designs for radar production programs. The role involves solid modeling, drawing creation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and ensure successful integration across Sentinel products.

The candidate will contribute to the design, development and failure investigation of radar systems, while participating in engineering changes and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• Experience in mechanical engineering design knowledge.
• Experience in product lifecycle stages of a radar production program.
• Experience resolving technical challenges.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical subsystems with solid modeling practices and drawings using CAD tools.
• Create 3-D design models and conceptual designs from sketches and diagrams.
• Support production issue resolution with cross-functional teams and SMEs.
• Assist with integration across Cross Product Teams in the Sentinel portfolio.
• Provide Radar technical data package support for design, development and failure investigation.
• Participate in Engineering changes, peer reviews, and configuration control processes.
