Job summary

Universal Instruments is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to research, design, and develop electro-mechanical products and systems for diverse applications. You will work on robots, machines and control systems, analyzing data, performing design calculations, and coordinating procurement and field installations.

The role emphasizes rapid prototyping, cost targets, and collaboration with electrical, software and test teams to ensure robust solutions and documented customer deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license required or pursuing licensure.
• 0-2 years of engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs products or systems such as robots, machines, instruments, controls, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, pneumatic or heat transfer systems.
• Researches and analyzes data to determine feasibility and cost of design or application.
• Performs design calculations based on engineering principles.
• Coordinates procurement, fabrication, operation and installation of mechanical products and systems.
• Assists in development of customer documentation and field installations.
• Evaluates machines or products on the manufacturing floor and recommends corrective actions.
