Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design Columbia Class HM&E systems, valves, and support procurement and installation. You will work with engineers across disciplines to resolve design issues and support testing, with remote work options depending on classified material handling.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (0–1 year experience) with preferred MS in Mechanical or Marine Engineering and experience in FEA (ABAQUS), Teamcenter, and Mathcad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–1 years of engineering experience.
• MS degree preferred in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide design, installation, and test support for Columbia Class HM&E systems.
• Resolve design issues via Change Notices and supplier coordination.
• Review and advise on test forms and technical documentation.
• Interface with engineers, designers, shipbuilders, and Navy personnel.
