Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Senior/Specialist/Principal to support VIRGINIA Class submarine design and maintenance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, design integration, and technical work document development for subs and related systems.

The role requires a BS or MS in mechanical-related fields and 5+ years of experience, with preferred advance degrees and knowledge of key programs and tools. On-site position at EB Groton Shipyard.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master in Mechanical, Marine, or Aeronautical engineering or Management Engineering.
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
Master's degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering preferred.
Knowledge of SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, FBW is a plus.
Experience using SPARS, ELCADD, JCALS and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues on submarine systems.
Provide technical evaluation of proposed modifications and design integration.
Develop technical work documents supporting VIRGINIA Class and fleet maintenance.
Collaborate with shipyard, suppliers, NAVSEA and other departments on design and procurement.
