Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a Fluid Systems Engineer to contribute from concept development to ship delivery for the COLUMBIA Class program. You will develop system requirements, perform analyses (pressure drop, flow, heat, stress) and help design, review diagrams, and select materials for submarine fluid systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Marine Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop system requirements and specifications.
• Perform pressure drop, flow, heat, and stress calculations.
• Create and improve fluid system designs.
• Develop and review system diagrams and drawings.
• Select materials and equipment; resolve design issues.
• Develop operating instructions and maintenance procedures.
• Plan budgets and schedules; coordinate with other disciplines.
• Communicate with internal and external customers.
