Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–7 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks; understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, sheet metal).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Systems and Electrical Engineering teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with standards and specifications.
  • Review, research, and design mechanical components and systems to meet contractual requirements.
  • Create manufacturable designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD; develop detailed drawings and documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drafters to develop cohesive designs and best practices.
  • Present concepts during design reviews and customer meetings; support configuration audits.
  • Support manufacturing by resolving design issues and managing engineering change documentation.
  • Coordinate with the CAD team to generate drawings and installation instructions.
  • Assist in preparing proposals with technical scope and cost estimates.
  • Oversee assembly, installation, and modification of components; ensure quality and adherence to specs.
  • Continuously review and improve existing designs for efficiency and future enhancements.
