Job summary

Locations include Boise, ID; Denver, CO; Sacramento, CA, plus remote with travel. The position is hybrid—3 days onsite and 2 days remote for local candidates, with travel of 1–3 days per month for site visits and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.
• FE/EIT certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and support HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial building projects.
• Work with equipment such as air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and compressors.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, system layouts, and technical documentation.
• Develop and coordinate designs using Revit and Bluebeam.
• Support construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and construction administration.
• Participate in site visits and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Work closely with senior engineers while taking on increasing project responsibility.

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join a growing mechanical engineering team supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 3-5 years of experience who wants exposure to a variety of project types, strong mentorship, and clear opportunities for growth. Projects include retail, office, higher education, aviation, quick-service restaurants, and other commercial facilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design and support HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial building projects.
• Work with equipment such as air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and compressors.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, system layouts, and technical documentation.
• Develop and coordinate designs using Revit and Bluebeam.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• Commercial building experience strongly preferred.

• HVAC and plumbing design experience.
• FE/EIT certification preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and client-service skills.

Remote candidates may be considered if they can travel approximately 1-3 days per month for site visits and office collaboration.
