Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in mechanical engineering design for building systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and building mechanical systems design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, IECC, local building codes.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for mechanical systems design for building and infrastructure projects.
• Support HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, controls, and related building systems.
• Assist with research, concept development, and preparation of construction documents and specifications.
• Perform mechanical calculations (e.g., load calculations) and support system sizing and selection.
• Collect, compile, and analyze engineering data from drawings, field observations, and technical reports to support project execution.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
• Contribute to technical reports and presentations to support project findings and recommendations.
• Ensure work is delivered in alignment with WSP quality, safety, and performance standards.
