Layup Parts is seeking an Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Software (CAD/CAM & Geometry) to lead a team building tools that turn complex manufacturing problems into scalable, automated workflows. You will work at the intersection of software, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering, guiding decisions and translating real-world challenges into software solutions.

The role emphasizes leading engineers, shaping technical architecture, and delivering scalable geometry tooling for composite parts

Qualifications

• Experience leading software teams in manufacturing or mechanical engineering contexts.
• Ability to translate manufacturing challenges into software requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the computational geometry software team, setting priorities and mentoring.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to define software requirements.
• Guide development of software that analyzes, manipulates, and generates complex 3D geometry.
• Oversee internal tooling to improve speed, quality, and scalability of workflows.
• Automate workflows across CAD/CAM, tooling, machining, and other processes.
• Make technical/product tradeoffs considering software and manufacturing realities.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute directly when needed.
• Shape architecture, practices, and roadmap for Layup's manufacturing platform.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow the team.
