Job summary

RimePro in the Greater Los Angeles area seeks Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineers to join growing MEP teams on a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, and mixed‑use projects. You will lead mechanical design from schematic through construction administration and act as the primary client contact on multiple active projects.

The role requires a PE, 8+ years of experience, expertise in HVAC and plumbing, knowledge of Title 24/ASHRAE/IMC, and proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • PE license in Mechanical Engineering is required
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an MEP consulting or design firm
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design for commercial/institutional projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships
  • Deep working knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE standards, IMC, and California energy codes
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
  • Excellent client-facing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience mentoring production teams; LEED accreditation a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from schematic design through construction administration
  • Serve as the primary client-facing engineer and technical lead on multiple projects
  • Consult with clients, architects, and teams on mechanical system design, energy performance, and code compliance
  • Review, stamp, and take responsibility for mechanical construction documents and calculations
  • Oversee and direct the work of internal design and production teams
  • Ensure designs comply with Title 24, ASHRAE, IMC, and local codes
  • Coordinate systems with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications
  • Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and provide construction administration through closeout
  • Support business development through client relationships and project pursuit
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering --- required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related MEP discipline required

  • Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design for commercial and institutional projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation software
  • Exceptional client-facing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering production teams preferred
  • LEED accreditation a plus
