Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing) to join our growing team in York, PA. The candidate will work on healthcare, education, and complex building projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities include design development, load calculations, drawings in Revit/AutoCAD, and coordination with stakeholders to meet codes and project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (or related field).
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the consulting industry.
  • Strong HVAC and plumbing design experience.
  • Experience with load calculations, duct design, and equipment selection.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Healthcare or educational project experience preferred.

  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and educational facilities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine design criteria and equipment selection.
  • Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate designs with architects, owners, contractors, and other disciplines.
  • Present design solutions and recommend system alternatives to clients.
  • Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Incorporate sustainable engineering solutions into project designs.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of commercial, institutional, healthcare, and educational facilities
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine design criteria, equipment selection, system layouts, and engineering solutions
  • Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection
  • Prepare engineering drawings and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Coordinate designs with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Present design solutions and recommend system alternatives to clients
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
  • Incorporate innovative and sustainable engineering solutions into project designs
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience within the consulting engineering industry
  • Strong HVAC and plumbing design experience
  • Experience performing load calculations, duct design, and equipment selection
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Healthcare and/or educational project experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
