Job summary

RimePro Inc. in the Greater Los Angeles area seeks a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across commercial and institutional projects.

You will work with a full design and production team handling drafting and documentation behind you—focusing on client consulting, project management, and technical oversight across multiple active projects. This role offers growth, a collaborative culture, and hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Active PE license in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related MEP discipline
  • 8 years of mechanical engineering experience in MEP consulting/design
  • Strong expertise in HVAC and plumbing system design for commercial/institutional projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships
  • Deep knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE standards, IMC, and CA energy codes
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation software
  • Excellent client-facing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience mentoring engineering production teams (preferred)
  • LEED accreditation a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from schematic design through construction administration
  • Serve as primary client-facing engineer across multiple active projects
  • Consult with clients, architects, and project teams on mechanical system design, energy performance, and code compliance
  • Review, stamp, and take responsibility for mechanical construction documents and calculations
  • Oversee internal design and production teams
  • Ensure designs comply with Title 24, ASHRAE, IMC and California codes
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications
  • Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and provide construction administration support
  • Support business development through client relations and project pursuit
  • Mentor junior engineers and grow the team

About the Opportunity

You would be supported by a full design and engineering production team handling the drafting and documentation behind you --- allowing you to operate at a high level focused on client consulting, project management, and technical oversight across multiple active projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from schematic design through construction administration
  • Serve as the primary client-facing engineer and technical point of contact across multiple active projects

  • Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines throughout design
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication across a portfolio of concurrent projects
  • Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and provide construction administration support through project closeout
  • Support business development efforts through client relationship management and project pursuit activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth and development of the engineering team
Qualifications
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering --- required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related MEP discipline required
  • 8 years of mechanical engineering experience in an MEP consulting or design firm
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design for commercial and institutional projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously
  • Deep working knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE standards, IMC, and California energy codes
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation software
  • Exceptional client-facing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering production teams preferred
  • LEED accreditation a plus
