Job summary

RIMEPRO INC is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to support its growing mechanical engineering team in Matthews, NC. The role focuses on designing HVAC and plumbing systems for complex commercial, healthcare and mission-critical facilities, collaborating with construction and field teams.

Ideal candidates hold an active PE license, a mechanical engineering degree, and experience with Revit/AutoCAD. Healthcare, data center, or mission-critical project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or related engineering degree.
  • Experience designing HVAC and/or plumbing systems.
  • Commercial mechanical construction or consulting experience preferred.
  • Healthcare, data center, mission-critical, or other complex facility experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical codes, equipment, and system design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, construction, and field teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex commercial facilities.
  • Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Review and stamp engineering drawings and calculations as required.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project disciplines.
  • Partner with project management, preconstruction, VDC, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support constructability reviews and resolve design and field coordination issues.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, equipment requirements, and project documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance on mechanical system design and installation.
  • Support projects within healthcare, data center, commercial, and other technically complex environments.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and engineering requirements.

Summary

A leading commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a Mechanical Professional Engineer to support the continued growth of its engineering team across complex commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical projects.

This role is ideal for a licensed PE with a background in HVAC and/or plumbing systems who wants to work closely with construction, operations, and field teams rather than being limited to a traditional consulting environment. The company has a strong pipeline of technically complex work and is continuing to expand its internal engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex commercial facilities
  • Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, specifications, and construction documents
  • Review and stamp engineering drawings and calculations as required
