Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager (Mechanical or Electrical) to lead projects from scope through closeout. You will coordinate with clients, manage budgets, schedule milestones, and ensure QA/QC standards are met, delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree, PE licensure, and a track record in healthcare building design, with strong leadership and client communication skills.

Qualifications

• Technical or Bachelor's degree in one of the major technical disciplines practiced by the firm with ten years of practical experience on similar projects
• Professional Engineer Licensure
• Healthcare building design experience preferred
• Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies
• Knowledge of project approach and system design
• Basic budgeting knowledge
• Client-facing experience

Responsibilities

• Confirm project scope and requirements with client and stakeholders
• Develop financial plan for project and assist in budgeting
• Develop staffing plan with PM and leadership
• Ensure a Project Coordinator is assigned and client completes BIM Questionnaire
• Lead kick-off meetings and convey project scope and standards
• Set final man hour budget with design team
• Coordinate schedule milestones and information flow
• Prepare QA/QC plan and ensure quality standards
• Track invoices and accounts receivable and revenues
• Attend meetings with owners, clients, and architects and document issues
• Monitor budget and adjust manpower as needed
• Negotiate additional services and fees
• Develop and grow client relationships via business development
• Conduct risk assessments and implement responses
• Coordinate CA process and ensure proper closeout
• Maintain knowledge of project scope, budgeting, and revenue projections
• Pursue internal and external training to enhance technical knowledge
