Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Engineer in Raleigh, NC to lead complex facility and infrastructure projects. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, manage scopes, budgets, and schedules, and ensure contracts meet requirements.

The role emphasizes client relations, risk assessment, and development of proposals, with PE licensure preferred for ABET-accredited degrees. An ESOP-enabled workplace supports growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Technical or Bachelor’s degree in one of the major technical disciplines practiced by the firm with eight years related project experience OR
• Twelve years of practical experience on similar projects
• Demonstrated, consistent ability to manage projects of various size and complexity
• Professional Engineer Licensure preferred (required by those who have a ABET accredited degree in engineering)

Responsibilities

• Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders; document assumptions and decisions.
• Develop proposals and financial plans; prepare preliminary man-hour budgets with CRM, Department Head, or Operations Director.
• Ensure contracts are fully executed by the appropriate Principal and align the team to contractual obligations.
• Lead effective project kick-offs to convey scope, standards, budgets, roles, risks, and expectations.
• Finalize discipline work plans and task-hour budgets with design leads; update plans as conditions change.
• Establish schedules with client input; set interim milestones for timely information flow and coordination.
