Job summary

Delta Personnel, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to design and evaluate electrical and mechanical building systems for a variety of projects in the New Orleans area.

You will prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and permit documents for commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, and public infrastructure work. The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience in a consulting environment, strong codes knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience designing electrical or mechanical building systems in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, engineering standards, and construction practices.
  • Experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Proficiency with engineering design software and Microsoft Office applications; AutoCAD and Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate electrical and mechanical building systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, and public infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, construction drawings, specifications, technical reports, equipment schedules, cost estimates, and permit documentation.
  • Perform field investigations, existing-condition assessments, and support renovation and new construction projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, utility providers, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all phases of a project.
  • Review shop drawings, contractor submittals, and RFIs, while providing construction administration and commissioning support.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while assisting with proposal preparation and business development efforts.

What You\'ll Do

What We\'re Looking For


  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience designing electrical or mechanical building systems within a consulting engineering environment.

  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, or public infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, engineering standards, and construction practices.

  • Experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.

  • Proficiency with engineering design software and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered.
