Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring a Mechanical Designer to join the Trane Commercial Controls Engineering team. You will draft and design components, assemblies, and enclosures for Trane control products, managing documentation and contributing to new concepts for HVAC control solutions.

Role requires CAD proficiency (Creo preferred) and PLM experience, with the ability to work in cross-functional global teams and deliver sustainable, high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Drafting, or related field or, alternatively, 4+ years of CAD experience.
• Experience with Creo (preferred) and other CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or ProEngineer.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill/TeamCenter a plus) and schematic capture tools (e.g., Altium).
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Create electronic components, parts, assemblies, and enclosures using Creo.
• Develop designs and documentation with CAD and PLM tools; produce supporting docs across systems.
• Support PLM change control processes.
• Collaborate with electrical, PCB, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to capture design intent.
• Translate instructions into CAD drawings/models for HVAC control products.
• Apply standard drafting practices and computations to drawings.
• Create 2D/3D drawings and assemblies in Creo; manage multiple projects.
• Prioritize tasks across concurrent programs.
• Follow all safety and security policies.
