Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of handheld surgical tools interfacing with robotic systems. You will design complex mechanisms, rotating systems, and ergonomic devices with safety and manufacturability in mind.

You will collaborate with robotics and electrical teams, apply DFM and DFA, and develop CAD models in Creo while managing PLM data in Windchill for medical device projects under ISO considerations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill for data management.
• Strong understanding of DFM and DFA best practices.
• Experience in medical device design is a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of handheld surgical devices with robotic interfaces.
• Develop complex mechanisms, rotating systems and ergonomic tools.
• Collaborate with robotics and electrical teams for electro‑mechanical integration.
• Apply DFM/DFA to optimize quality, yield and cost.
• Produce production‑ready CAD models and detailed drawings.
• Manage CAD data and PLM records within a strict process.
