Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer for Single-Port SP Accessories to drive design efforts across high‑volume manufacturing, plastics, and biocompatible materials, delivering reliable solutions for robotic surgery products.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Systems, Clinical, Human Factors, and Supplier Engineers, perform risk analyses (FMEA), implement design controls, mentor peers, and contribute to manufacturability, cost savings, and product validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design for high-volume medical devices.
• Proficient in risk analysis and design controls.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive design efforts to optimize performance, manufacturability and reliability.
• Develop components and drawings for high-volume manufacturing.
• Design for manufacturing, automation, sterilization and biocompatibility.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Systems, Clinical, Human Factors, and Supplier Engineers.
• Perform and document risk analyses (FMEA) and implement mitigations.
