Job summary

Centrus Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and upgrade piping and fluid systems, with hands-on field support and mentorship from industry experts. This role focuses on designing critical piping infrastructure for liquids and gases and advancing professional growth.

You will transition from supporting senior engineers to owning projects, performing analyses, and ensuring compliance with codes while collaborating with cross-functional teams in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years hands-on piping and fluid systems design in industrial settings.
• Experience sizing pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and related components.
• Familiarity with ASME codes and welding procedures.
• Exposure to drafting/analysis tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience in regulated/process industries is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, modification, and layout of facility piping systems; size components.
• Create, update, and redline mechanical/piping drawings and specs.
• Perform pressure-drop, flow, and basic thermal calculations; assist CFD/FEA analyses.
• Conduct pipe-stress checks and support-structure assessments; support safety reviews.
• Prepare ROMs and equipment lists; support procurement evaluations.
• Provide field support for factory acceptance tests and commissioning.
