Job summary

North Atlantic Industries is seeking an Intern – Manufacturing Engineer to assist with mechanical design and manufacturing activities for aerospace electronic products. You will gain hands-on experience in design, production processes, tooling, and shop-floor problem solving while collaborating with Engineering, Production, Quality, and the machine shop to improve manufacturability and efficiency.

This internship runs in Summer 2027 with a typical Monday–Friday schedule and a 9/80 discretionary

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics or closely related field.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical design, engineering drawings, and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with 3D CAD software through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Person status with ability to provide documentation at hire; citizenship may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical and manufacturing engineering activities for aerospace electronic products.
• Gain hands-on experience with mechanical design, production processes, tooling, and fixtures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and machine shop to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
• Assist with prototype builds, engineering trials, process validation, and data collection.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects focusing on workflow, cycle time, scrap, and capacity.
