Job summary

RINA is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Houston, TX office with potential roles in Sunrise, FL or Chicago/Lisle, IL. The engineer will deliver high-quality mechanical designs, documentation, and calculations across project Phases, ensuring compliance with ASME, EN, API, and NFPA standards.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a strong background in mechanical codes, and proficiency with PV Elite, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical design for industrial plants, energy systems, or similar environments.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design codes and standards (ASME VIII, EN 13445, API, BS, ISO, NFPA20).
• Proficiency in engineering calculation and design software (PV Elite, COMPASS, HTRI, Mathcad, ANSYS, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Conversant with international codes and standards such as API, ASME, BS, ISO, NFPA20.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and update mechanical design specifications, data sheets, and requisitions.
• Develop general arrangement drawings, BOMs and documentation per standards.
• Perform design calculations and verify against codes.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients for inquiries and bid evaluations.
• Collaborate with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation and civil teams.
