Job summary

Festo Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II in Mason, OH to design and develop new catalog and customer-specific products. You will translate requirements into technical concepts, perform cost/performance analyses, and support lifecycle activities.

You will lead product-care efforts for cost and quality, prepare proposals, and collaborate with customers, sales, and our Germany HQ to implement improvements and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in mechanical engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 2–7 years of mechanical engineering experience, automation a plus.
• Strong CAD proficiency with CREO or similar.
• Experience with simulations and engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of polymeric materials and high‑volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop new catalogue and customer-specific products with cost, quality, and manufacturability focus.
• Prepare proposals with risks, deadlines, and costs.
• Create engineering docs (models, drawings, BOMs, datasheets).
• Perform calculations and simulations (FEA, springs, screws, O-rings, materials).
• Build and test prototypes for proof of concept.
• Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers.
