Job summary

Mainspring Energy seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on electrical enclosures and cable design to improve system performance. You will lead projects from requirements to release, coordinating cross-functional reviews and testing to ensure subsystems meet stringent technical requirements with potential for direct reports.

Qualifications

• Degree requirements; seniority determined by BS+3y or MS+2y.
• Experience designing electrical enclosure and/or cable design.
• Sheet metal design for medium-volume production and design-for-manufacturability challenges.
• Thermal modeling and integrating into larger system designs.
• Experience with CAD version control (PDM).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, optimization, and execution of electrical hardware.
• Collaborate with reliability and test teams for fast iteration cycles.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews and testing to meet specs.
• Deploy new designs into production with manufacturability considerations.
• Develop electrical hardware requirements, prototyping, testing, and tooling.
