Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on DFM/DFA. You will design robust, manufacturable hardware across autonomous air, land, and maritime systems, owning components from concept through prototype to high-rate production.

You will apply DFM/DFA principles, draft fully defined drawings per ASME Y14.5, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable rapid production and deployment at mission speed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical design with focus on DFM/DFA.
• Expert-level CAD (SolidWorks/NX/Creo) and PDM/PLM usage.
• Strong ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) for drawings and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience designing for weldments, machining, tooling for injection molding, composites, and bonding.
• Ability to create manufacturing docs and assembly instructions.
• Eligible to obtain/maintain US Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design for scale to maximize throughput, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Design parts and assemblies using welding, machining, molding, and composites.
• Create drawings per ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Produce detailed manufacturing instructions and process sheets.
• Perform tolerance analyses and DFMEA to de-risk bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Mentor junior hardware engineers in GD&T and manufacturing best practices.
