Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to own the mechanical definition of production products, from as-shipped configurations through changes post-launch, with a focus on sustaining quality and manufacturability.

You will investigate quality issues using RCA/PCA, design new components, and integrate DFMA feedback into ongoing design, while managing BOMs and drawings in a PLM environment at our Costa Mesa, CA HQ.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Proven track record owning designs on a team.
• Experience managing BOMs and drawings in a PLM tool.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to produce high-quality drawings.
• Fluency with engineering first principles.
• Experience with RCA and PCA for quality improvement.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• U.S. Person status for export-controlled data access.
• Onsite work at Costa Mesa, CA majority of time.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical definition of one or more production products from as-shipped configuration through post-launch changes.
• Investigate and resolve quality problems using RCA and PCA, ensuring fixes stick.
• Design new components and revise existing ones as products evolve.
• Feed DFMA lessons back into design to speed up production and reliability.
• Own engineering documentation and manage the BOM for final shipped product.
• Serve as mechanical authority for configuration and change management across variants.
• Support qualification campaigns to prove products in real conditions.
• Collaborate daily with designers, manufacturing engineers, and production partners.
• Travel to exercises to support field use and gather feedback.
