Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer in Costa Mesa, California, to own hardware from concept through production. You will design thermal solutions, RF hardware, PCBAs, and wiring, and prototype rapidly to meet tight timelines while supporting customer demonstrations and collecting feedback for requirements refinement.

The role requires at least 5 years of professional mechanical design experience, a relevant engineering degree, and hands-on fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in a professional setting.
• BSME, MS or PhD in a related engineering field.
• Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings).
• CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards.
• Demonstrated hands‑on fabrication skills and ability to root‑cause and adapt quickly to manufacturing issues.
• High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles.
• Experience with integration of PCBAs and other electronics into a mechanical system.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware design from initial requirements through handoff to full production.
• Work on mechanical designs that involve tight integration of thermal solutions, RF hardware, PCBAs, and cabling.
• Prototype rapidly to identify issues and develop a final product on compressed timelines.
• Support customer-facing hardware demonstrations and capture customer requirements from interactions.
• Travel to test sites as needed.
