The Toro Company, through its BOSS Snowplow division in Iron Mountain, Michigan, offers a January 2027–August 2027 co-op in mechanical engineering. You will assist with design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements, conduct tests, collect data, and analyze results in the Product Development Lab.

Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, you should have experience with 3D CAD (Creo Parametric), basics of manufacturing, and knowledge of engineering

• Enrolled in a B.S. program in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience with 3D CAD software is preferred.

What Will You Do?

• Assist with design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements to existing products
• Conduct required tests, collect data, and analyze results for new or existing products
• Design tests or test fixtures as needed
• Recognize and help with problem solving efforts in the Product Development Lab.
• Work with operations engineers to reduce costs and help improve quality of product

What Do You Need?

• Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience with 3D CAD software, Creo Parametric is a plus
• Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
• Knowledgeable in Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong leadership skills to lead a project and pull information from others
• Problem solving skills
• Basic understanding of hydraulic systems is preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills preferred
• Demonstrated computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time

Pay range is $22.00 - $28.00 depending on level of college you have completed.
