Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, Minnesota is offering a 2027 Summer Internship from May 17 to August 6, 2027 for Mechanical Engineering students. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and should be on track to graduate, with ABET-accredited coursework and a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Interns will troubleshoot warranty issues, perform root-cause analysis, collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist lab and field testing, analyze data, and document results for the lessons learned

Qualifications

• Must be a Mechanical Engineering student pursuing a BS in an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 and completion of sophomore or junior year.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drafting tools.

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a school/employment or any other visa, regardless of expiration date, now or in the future.

What Do You Need?

• Mechanical Engineering BS Major in an ABET accredited engineering program. Minimum GPA: 3.2. Completed at least sophomore or junior year of coursework.
• Fluent in Microsoft tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
• Basic understanding of statics and dynamics calculations, GD&T, and Design for Manufacturing.
• Clear verbal and written skills to work with engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and engagement in technical personal projects and engineering clubs.
• A desire to be hands on.
• Willingness to take feedback constructively.
