Job summary

The Toro Company is offering a 2027 Summer Internship Program from May 17 to August 6, 2027. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to start May 17.

The program supports EHS and engineering-related studies with exposure to safety programs, training, audits, and regulatory documentation. Interns can expect competitive hourly pay and perks, including paid volunteer time and a casual dress code.

Qualifications

• Education in Environmental, Health, and Safety or Engineering.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Knowledge of current Federal and State EHS regulations and best practices.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication, analytical and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database basics.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects.

Responsibilities

• Implement projects and programs to protect people, processes, equipment, products, and the environment from injury and loss.
• Collaborate with EHS personnel, operations, and support functions as an EHS resource.
• Coordinate training, audits, program reviews and hazard identification.
• Maintain EHS metric boards and prepare documentation for regulatory review.
• Update EHS and safety training documents to promote safety awareness.
• Work with site personnel on job hazard analyses.

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Will You Do?

• Implementing and supporting projects and programs to protect people, processes, equipment, products, and the environment from injury, risk, and economic loss.
• Work directly with EHS personnel, operations teams, and other support functions as a EHS resource; providing safety program updates, updating EHS documents including but not limited to job hazard analysis, and process documents.
• Coordinate and conduct training, audits, program reviews and hazard identification as needed.
• Maintain EHS metric boards, prepare documentation for review, and coordinate submission of regulatory reports.
• Update required EHS and safety training documents to promote safety awareness and address unsafe behavior and conditions.
• Work with site personnel on JSA’s or other hazard assessments.

What Do You Need?

• Education in a relevant area of study such as Environmental, Health, and Safety or Engineering.
• Student in good standing at an accredited educational institution with a grade point average of at least 2.5.
• Knowledge of current and relevant Federal and State EHS regulations and best practices.
• Excellent writing/verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively in a team.
• Accomplished computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and database experience.
• Self-directed and able to work without or minimal supervision.
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
