Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer position supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold AFB, TN. The role is part of the Base Operations Design group and involves working with an integrated team to sustain USAF test operations.

Open to internal and external candidates; entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and maintain authorized user access to the AEDC local area network.
• US Citizenship required due to federal government contract compliance requirements and the necessity to access secure federal databases and networks on Arnold Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support for various plant projects and test activities.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria in design solutions and/or modifications to existing systems, equipment or other components.
• Perform assignments with specific objectives and limited variable investigation for mechanical engineering.
• Prepare or review calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment; support mechanical engineering with common work processes.
• Provide engineering guidance to support procurement of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc.
• Participate in equipment/system design, testing, and design calculations; preparation of specs and scopes of work; reviews of designs and data.
