Job summary

BW Packaging, part of the Barry-Wehmiller family, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and document automated packaging machinery. You will develop layouts, assemblies, and BOMs while ensuring safety, manufacturability, and reliability.

Collaboration with controls, sourcing, and field teams is essential to deliver projects on time and within budget. The role requires strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), DFMA understanding, and experience with pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with mechanical design of industrial equipment or automation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; DFMA knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for automated packaging equipment.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and schematics.
• Collaborate with controls, sourcing, and manufacturing teams.
• Support FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
