Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller’s BW Packaging division seeks an experienced Mechanical Assembly Technician to build, assemble, and test packaging machinery and sub-assemblies. You will work with SolidWorks 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and work instructions, ensuring safety and high-quality standards.

Collaboration with Engineering and Operations is essential. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and 2+ years in mechanical assembly, preferably in packaging/automation, with the ability to read drawings and use hand

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years mechanical assembly experience, preferably in packaging/automation.
• Ability to read and interpret SolidWorks drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble packaging machinery, equipment, conveyance and sub-assemblies from SolidWorks models, drawings, instructions and BOMs.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, exploded views, tolerances, and assembly sequences.
• Read SolidWorks drawings and 3D models; follow detailed assembly instructions.
• Install components such as frames, conveyors, bearings, shafts, actuators, gearboxes, guarding, fasteners.
• Perform mechanical alignment and adjustment to specification.
• Document build issues and changes; support testing prior to shipment.
