Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking an Application Engineer – Automation & Integration to define the technical foundation for automation opportunities across BW Packaging. You will translate customer requirements into executable system concepts and layouts, enabling accurate estimates and reliable execution.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience in packaging systems, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD. Ability to speak Spanish is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5-8 years of industry experience.
• Strong understanding of packaging systems, automation, and integrated solutions.
• Experience developing system concepts and layouts for capital equipment or automation projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and standard productivity tools.
• Spanish language ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer specs into integrated packaging and automation concepts.
• Define system concepts, layouts, and solution definitions.
• Evaluate interfaces and integration considerations across packaging and controls.
• Lead technical discussions to define scope and tradeoffs.
• Develop and validate controls-related estimating inputs.
