We have an exciting opportunity for a MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER at our PROVIDENCE, RI location.

Objectives:

• Perform design and engineering tasks as required on mechanical and pneumatic measurement products.
• Work on product improvement teams for improving designs on current catalog products to improve product performance, reduce cost and assembly time.
• Develop custom engineered solutions based on specific customer applications.
• Review customer specifications and develop conceptual and/or manufacturing drawings as required using Solidworks CAD Design software.
• Work closely with sales staff, manufacturing engineers, and customer service to ensure designs meet the customers’ requirements and conform to internal processes and standards.
• Prepare information on these designs for inclusion in technical manuals, when required, to support the use of the product at a customer site.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering design role with precision components and assemblies. Automation experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-cultural skills, both written and verbal, required.
• Familiarity with ASME Y 14.5 and GD&T.
• An understanding of manufacturing and machining processes.
• Strong CAD knowledge, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
• A general knowledge of Metrology practices and applications is a plus.
• Document management (PDM) and ERP systems experience, a plus.
• MS Office skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
