About the Role

We are seeking driven and dynamic Design/Build Managers to join the nation’s leading design-build firm, recently awarded #1 Best Employer in North Carolina. These are high-impact, client-facing roles ideal for individuals eager to take ownership of complex vertical construction projects and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

As a Design/Build Manager, you’ll operate as the project lead—managing timelines, budgets, and client relationships from concept through completion. You will play a vital role in ensuring project success while also contributing to the firm’s collaborative and competitive culture.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of vertical construction projects, managing schedules, subcontractors, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between design, engineering, and construction teams.
  • Drive communication and problem-solving throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure compliance with design intent, safety standards, and project delivery goals.
  • Represent the firm with professionalism and confidence in high-stakes, client-facing scenarios.

What We're Looking For

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required for Raleigh roles.
  • For Memphis roles, a Construction Management degree may be considered.
  • Associate’s degrees or unrelated degrees will not meet the qualifications.

Experience:

  • 1–8 years of experience in vertical construction (e.g., commercial, institutional, or industrial buildings).
  • Experience in heavy civil, bridges, highways, residential homebuilding, or refineries will not be a match.

Personality Fit:

  • You must be confident, competitive, outgoing, and persuasive—this is non-negotiable.
  • Candidates must pass a personality assessment focused on sales-oriented and leadership traits.

Why Join?

  • Unmatched Earning Potential: Earn a % of project profits as a performance bonus—many PMs are earning $100K+ annually in bonuses alone.
  • Award-Winning Culture: Voted #1 Best Employer in North Carolina and the #1 Design-Build Firm in the U.S.
  • Fast-Track Career Growth: Work in a high-trust, high-responsibility environment where merit is rewarded and career paths are accelerated.
