Job description

Corvid's Science & Technology (S&T) team develops advanced munitions and technologies for DoD customers. We are looking to add an engineer to focus on developing detailed 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings with fully defined GD&T in accordance with ASM 14.5 Standards.

The position will work across multiple projects and programs. The candidate should be comfortable interacting with research and production teams to ensure data packages are accurate and up-to-date, facilitating a seamless transition from prototyping to full production.

Responsibilities include:

1. Apply and interpret functional GD&T to ensure proper fit, form, and function of complex mechanical components and assemblies.
2. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to define and validate dimensional requirements.
3. Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and assist in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
4. Maintain revision control and drawing accuracy using configuration management.
5. Coordinate with metrology teams to ensure inspection strategies align with drawing intent.

Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Expert proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX, or CATIA).
• Thorough understanding of ASME Y14.5-2018 (or 2009) GD&T Standards; DGTP Certification is a plus.
• Experience creating manufacturable, tolerance-driven mechanical designs, familiar with machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Preferred experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical devices.
• Familiarity with CMM inspection methods, metrology software, and drawing interpretation for QA is advantageous.
