Job summary

LHH in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop custom machinery from concept through production, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable equipment that supports efficient manufacturing.

Responsibilities include CAD design, analyses, creating drawings and BOMs, and coordinating with suppliers for component sourcing and system integration, with a strong emphasis on weld methods and fabrication practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing machinery or equipment.

Job description

This role is responsible for designing and developing custom machinery from initial concept through final production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable equipment that supports efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical systems and components using CAD software
  • Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and simulations to validate designs and ensure performance standards are met
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
  • Partner with suppliers and vendors to source components and support system integration
  • Specify and select mechanical elements such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and shafts based on application requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in machinery or equipment design
  • Proficiency with CAD platforms such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Strong foundation in mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of welding methods and fabrication practices

Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000
