This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys bringing concepts to life—from initial design through production release—while partnering cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and related CAD tools.
  • Design mechanical systems and components based on engineering requirements, specifications, and project scope.
  • Develop and maintain standardized design libraries to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Generate comprehensive design documentation including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly layouts, and fabrication drawings.
  • Manage revision control and maintain accurate, up-to-date design documentation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Support production by troubleshooting design‑related issues and implementing design improvements as needed.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous process and product improvements.
  • Ensure alignment with internal standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing, heavy equipment, or conveyor systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Hands‑on experience with sheet metal design and/or heavy mechanical assemblies.
  • Proven ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings, layouts, and BOMs.
  • Solid understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and drafting standards.
  • Experience managing design revisions and engineering documentation in a structured environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with welded assemblies and fabrication processes.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and iLogic for design automation and data management.
