Job summary

Stantec in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Intern (Co-Op) to assist with building HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design under close supervision. You will contribute to BIM drawings, perform calculations, and support field assessments on active projects.

Eligible students should be enrolled in a mechanical engineering program with relevant coursework and some drafting experience. This internship offers hands-on learning and the potential for a full-time position after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering or equivalent post-secondary program with the availability for a full-time summer internship is required.
• Completion of foundational coursework such as Thermodynamics and Statics/Dynamics is preferred.
• Drafting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in mechanical design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations and layouts.
• Produce BIM drawings using Revit.
• Perform field work evaluating existing sites as directed by a senior engineer.
• Assist with engineering duties on projects of varying complexity.
