Job summary

Stantec is offering a Mechanical Intern (Co-Op) position in Austin, TX. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, contributing to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design and BIM drawing production using Revit.

Ideal candidates are mechanical engineering students with coursework in Thermodynamics and Statics/Dynamics, eager to learn, and available for a full-time summer internship with potential for a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering program with availability for a full-time summer internship.
• Preference for candidates who have completed foundational coursework such as Thermodynamics and Statics/Dynamics and have drafting experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in mechanical design of building HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems including calculations and layouts.
• Produce BIM drawings using Revit.
• Perform field work evaluating existing sites as directed by senior engineer.
• Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
• Participate in intern design project as part of a multidisciplinary intern team.
