Job summary

The Project Engineer at Goyette Mechanical is responsible for supporting the successful execution of mechanical construction projects from initiation through completion. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to coordinate activities, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget targets are met.

This is a full-time, non-union salaried position with comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Construction background or experience in Construction Management or mechanical project management.
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot plans and blueprints.
• Sound organizational skills with strong data and document management abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on deadlines; excellent time management skills are necessary to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention-to-detail and accuracy are highly critical in this role.
• Must be able to foster and support a teamwork environment, placing a high emphasis on excellent customer service.
• Solid verbal and written communication with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination and administration of mechanical construction projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement activities.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, general contractors, field personnel.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement and tracking.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and correspondence.
• Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Participate in project meetings and follow up on outstanding action items.
• Support field coordination and help resolve project-related issues.
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
• Communicate project status, risks, and outstanding issues to the Project Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
