Job summary

Goyette Mechanical Construction Division in New Florence, MO is seeking a local Construction Assistant Project Manager with a background in construction management or mechanical PM. You will work with a PM team, assist with material ordering, scheduling, organization, and communication with partners.

You’ll process RFIs, change orders, submittals and maintain logs, coordinating procurement and cost tracking.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction materials ordering, scheduling, organization, and partner communication.
• Process RFIs, change orders, submittals and maintain logs.
• Coordinate follow-up on RFIs, material procurement, change orders, and cost tracking.
• Purchase materials and equipment, write purchase orders, and manage invoices.
• Track delivery dates for major equipment and material POs.
• Maintain log of extra work by subcontractors.
• Ensure documents are organized and maintained for records.
• Support project managers, superintendents, foremen, commissioning teams, safety, and partners.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Construction Assistant Project Manager to add to our Goyette Mechanical Construction Division for a construction project in New Florence, MO. Specifically, we are looking for local candidates with a construction background and/or experience in construction management or mechanical project management.

This is a full-time, non-union salaried position with benefits.

• Work closely with a construction project manager(s) as part of a cohesive PM team.
• Assist with construction materials ordering, scheduling, organization, and communication with construction partners.
• Process RFI’s, change orders, submittals and maintain respective logs
• Coordinate and proactively follow-up on RFI’s, material procurement, change orders, cost tracking and manage communications
• Purchase miscellaneous materials and equipment needed for projects including requesting quotes, writing purchase orders, maintain a purchase order log, and approving invoices
• Track and follow-up on delivery dates for major equipment and material purchase orders
• Maintain log of extra work performed by subcontractors
• Ensure purchase order, submittal and other construction documents is properly organized and maintained for record
• Position may at times maintain a presence at a jobsite trailer, including administrative duties, ordering/organizing jobsite trailer supplies and assisting visitors
• Assist the project managers, superintendents, foreman, commissioning teams, safety technicians, and other partners with their tasks, as needed.

Requirements

Educations & Experience

• Construction background or experience in Construction Management or mechanical project management.
• Previous HVAC/R Mission Critical experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot plans and blueprints
• Sound organizational skills with strong data and document management abilities
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on deadlines; excellent time management skills are necessary to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention-to-detail and accuracy are highly critical in this role.
• Must be able to foster and support a teamwork environment, placing a high emphasis on excellent customer service.
• Dependable, adaptable, and proactive with good interpersonal skills.
• Solid verbal and written communicationwith a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

• Previous or similar Mission Critical Assistant PM or PE experience.
• Previous experience as a construction Assistant PM or construction Project Engineer.
• Bachelor's in Construction Management or related field/experience.
• Software experience: ProCore, Hammertech, Bluebeam, Revit, Navisworks.
