Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to lead commissioning activities on complex building projects. You will oversee design reviews, system installations, and functional testing, while preparing analyses and reports for QA/QC and client reviews.

Responsibilities include performing energy simulations, LEED commissioning, and coordinating with clients and authorities having jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in commissioning in the building industry.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently execute tasks.
• Demonstrated leadership skills a plus.
• Ability to work and manage multiple project teams concurrently.
• Strong knowledge of MEP/FP building systems design and construction processes.
• Strong knowledge of building automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of the test and balance process and procedures.
• Experience in Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects a plus.
• Knowledge of design and energy simulation software a plus.
• PE preferred.
• BCxP, CCP, CxA, or CBCP certification preferred.
• LEED AP with specialty a plus.
• OSHA 10 a plus.
• Experience using web-based commissioning management software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Development and execution of a project specific commissioning plan involving design review, system installation verification, and functional testing.
• Development of spreadsheet analyses and written reports; perform field assessments and on-site commissioning activities.
• Functional testing of building systems including MEP and controls systems.
• Complete USGBC LEED commissioning tasks and credit completion.
• Building energy and resource use analysis through energy simulation software.
• Review work products prepared by others as part of Osborn’s QA/QC process.
• Perform work planning and management of the commissioning process to the available hours in the work plan.
• Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require.
• Assist in business development activities by participating in various trade organizations and assisting with presentations.
