Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to lead commissioning activities on complex building projects. You will oversee design reviews, system installations, and functional testing, while preparing analyses and reports for QA/QC and client reviews.

Responsibilities include performing energy simulations, LEED commissioning, and coordinating with clients and authorities having jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in commissioning in the building industry.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently execute tasks.
• Demonstrated leadership skills a plus.
• Ability to work and manage multiple project teams concurrently.
• Strong knowledge of MEP/FP building systems design and construction processes.
• Strong knowledge of building automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of the test and balance process and procedures.
• Experience in Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects a plus.
• Knowledge of design and energy simulation software a plus.
• PE preferred.
• BCxP, CCP, CxA, or CBCP certification preferred.
• LEED AP with specialty a plus.
• OSHA 10 a plus.
• Experience using web-based commissioning management software a plus.

• Functional testing of building systems including MEP and controls systems.
• Complete USGBC LEED commissioning tasks and credit completion.
• Building energy and resource use analysis through energy simulation software.
• Review work products prepared by others as part of Osborn’s QA/QC process.
• Perform work planning and management of the commissioning process to the available hours in the work plan.
• Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require.
• Assist in business development activities by participating in various trade organizations and assisting with presentations.

Osborn Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with 5-10 years of experience. This position will report to the Director of Commissioning. The ideal candidate would have strong working knowledge of building systems design and installation, experience with building commissioning, and strong written and communication skills. They would also have experience running commissioning projects independently with minimal supervision and directing support staff.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise staff or self-perform the following:
• Development and execution of a project specific commissioning plan involving design review, system installation verification, and functional testing.

Frequent use of a computer for several hours at a time Will need to periodically climb ladders (step, fixed, etc.) and navigate over and under barriers Lift and/or carry equipment (i.e. ladders, test equipment) weighing up to 30 pounds

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise. Travel to and navigate construction sites. Tolerate various climatic conditions, loud noises, and occasional exposure to normal construction conditions (dust, dirt, welding fumes, solvents, paint, etc.).

Periodic, overnight, work-related travel (as needed).
