Job summary

South Bay Solutions is a high-precision machine shop seeking an Assembly Technician to build parts and support customer quality requirements on a day shift (Mon–Fri, 8:00 am–4:30 pm). You will follow manufacturing documentation, perform mechanical assembly, and inspect parts using calipers and height gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.

The role requires 1–2 years in a machine shop, ability to read simple blueprints, and proficiency with basic measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in machine shop assembly.
  • Able to read and interpret simple blueprints and follow assembly instructions.
  • Ability to use calipers, height gauges, hand tools and other tools effectively.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination to work with small components in a controlled manufacturing setting.
  • Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts by following applicable manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform basic mechanical assembly, e.g. install Helicoil and Dowel pins.
  • Perform inspection to ensure the part meets specifications and standards using instruments such as calipers and height gauges.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain assembly equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Department to ensure all assemblies meet quality requirements.
  • Maintain proper Job Traveler documentation.
  • Report any malfunctions or hazardous conditions in the area to the supervisor.
  • Perform other job-related duties.

Schedule :

Day Shift - Mon - Fri : 8 am to 4:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble parts by following applicable manufacturing documentation.
