Job summary

North Wind in Plymouth, MN seeks a Manager, Mechanical Assembly to supervise the operations technician workforce and oversee the Test Laboratory’s mechanical and electrical systems, safety programs, and maintenance operations. Some weekend and shift work may be required.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in an engineering field, proven leadership in maintenance, and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, welding, and coordinating with vendors to install or upgrade systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering-related field.
• Demonstrate high level of technical competence in maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.
• Overseeing and maintaining safety program standards.
• Ability to work with state and federal safety personnel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Motivate, lead and create an efficient maintenance team.
• Experience with machining, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operations technician workforce and maintenance staff.
• Oversee Test Laboratory air pumping operations, building maintenance, and security infrastructure.
• Ensure safety compliance across laboratory infrastructure; may include weekend or shift work.
• Assign technician resources to test projects and provide hands-on support as needed.
• Collaborate with Lab Manager and Engineers on equipment acquisitions and implementation.
• Maintain documentation logs to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors for installations and maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate safe, timely action.
