Job summary

North Wind is seeking an Engineering Manager-level professional to lead electrical and controls design for wind tunnel and hypersonic ground test projects in Minnesota. You will oversee design packages, BOMs, and integration of subsystems, with a focus on reliability and performance.

The role requires hands-on experience in electrical engineering, data acquisition, and power distribution, plus travel to sites for reviews and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or related discipline.
• 10+ years of practical work experience in design of electrical circuits, electro-mechanical systems, hardware integration, power distribution or similar role.
• Experience leading a team and/or mentoring engineers/designers.
• US Person status is required due to security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineers are responsible for a given project within the scope of controls and electrical engineering.
• Design and develop electronic subsystems, data acquisition, control loops, and panel layouts.
• Perform cost, schedule, and budget management for Electrical/Controls engineering scope.
• Prepare design criteria, calculation packages, procurement specs, technical reports, and validation plans.
• Travel to customer and subcontractor sites for design reviews and commissioning.
